A curved dagger hanging from a belt, above two crossed swords, an iconic symbol in the world of watches. Yes, I am talking about the KHANJAR coat of arms of Oman, perhaps one of the best examples of a logo that identifies provenance, capturing the imagination of collectors and enthusiasts.
The Khanjar is the national symbol of Oman. It was introduced by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, on the flag of the new country in 1970. The Sultan used to give watches as gifts, a way of manifesting his generosity and spreading his influence.
I make a premise : reproducing the Logo of the Royal House without specific authorization is a crime (even a serious one).
Permission is granted on a case-by-case basis for special personalization on watches directly commissioned by the Royal Household.
The possibility of engraving the Logo of the Royal House on watches NOT DIRECTLY COMMISSIONED by the Royal House itself (even on watches sold by other dealers …) is to be considered absolutely fanciful.
Thus, Oman personalization, it is impossible to obtain without authorization.
These are commissioned through the Oman dealer Khimji Ramdas and today it provides for a khanjar engraved on the case back, printed on the slipcase and the guarantee country code 538 Khimji Ramdas.
The fairy tale that at the customer’s request the said dealer engraved the logo is purely fictional.
