Reference 6262, together with ref. 6264 with its bakelite bezel, represent the latest evolution of chronographs with pump buttons. The change consists in the introduction of the new Valjoux 727 calibre with 21,600 VPH.
This movement would also be used in the later references 6263-65, until the end of production of manual Daytonas in 1987.
Reference 6262 was produced in 9500 pieces and is the rarest of the Daytona models with a steel bezel, so the finest examples are always highly sought after by collectors.
